My Favorite Bumper Sticker

Saw this Jem today at base of canyon
"Alta is for skiers" is Altas slogan and they don't allow snowboarders. Take that Alta exclusionary elitist jerks. by the way if anybody cares 23" of powder rode just like it does mid season, real good, but no crowds. I love this time of year, everybody is over it even though it isnt over.

Happy Birthday Shannon!

If being 32 is tiring, being 33 years old may prove to be exahusing!

Shannon takes a cat nap after 3rd ridge hike of the day.

You know what this "No Board" neeeds?

Answer: Bindings
Billy about to drop, feet are free. I probably was pulling 50 pounds on the rope when i tried it. way harder than I thought. Is this a new invention? no! what does having no bindings do for you? good question!

Local Woman Dominates Pioneer Ridge

While most of us were busy looking for eggs

Shannon was Busy Dominating Pioneer Ridge.
Two new chutes under the belt a day before she turns 33 years old!

Woodpecker decide to "ask for it"

At 11:00 and inside the house I heard a loud metallic banging coming from the fireplace. I Immediatly knew what it was. I went out and snapped this pic.

a metal chimney cap makes a good drum for a woodpecker.

Drumming up mates is tough work. If you come back at 3:00am it is gonna be "deadly" work.

No friends on a powder day!

I got a new hero. Here is why.

So a hiker, following his "buddy's" post holing a new boot pack (on top of a cornice) up the the ridge ended up breaking a cornice off and going for a ride, getting partially buried.

They send out ski patrol to seach for bodies (none found) and shut down all gates from hiking.
The "buddy"after learning that his friend went for a ride, left his partner and kept on hiking and continued on his tour. The victim talking to ski patrol said he had a "buddy" whom was unaccounted for. So this is what happened. Full search. (dogs, choppers, probe line)

Although this "Buddy" was not his patner's hero, he is mine. This "buddy" truly lives by the code "no friends on a powder day"! Way to go, "buddy"!

Why is this Shirtless Kid on my Blog?

If you ever buy a camera take a few pics then return it, eventually they are gonna sell it as an "open box". When they do, somebody cheap, such as myself, may try to save a couple of bucks and buy it on discount. And that is why this poor shirtless kid made my blog. Congratulations shirtless kid.

From My Cold Dead Hand!

Fire in the hole, circa 1997 when we lived in Tennesse, Ghost Section of the Wolf river. Myself, Tim and Scott demonstrating our constitutional right to bear arms, ready and willing to defend this great country.
