Man vs Machine

Local utah resident celebrates a large victory over the machines. The Microwave went an unexpected 15 rounds. It was a very close bout. Victor credits his win to a strict training regiment, perserverance, his trusty multimeter, and a wallet that just doesn't know when to open. After a good hard fight, the microwave is returning to work.

Microwave thought door was open, wolud not run. there are 3 microswitches, and a motherboard. I replaced the motherboard and a bad fuse. I am not convinced It needed a new motherboard. I think I payed myself $8.00 an hour on this project. The case is a terrible design. I had to take out 50 screws to get to what I was looking for.

$8.00 an hour is the going rate for a Delta pilot? Where is all that baggage fee $$$ going? I guess not to the pilots eh?

got it remanufactured online for $160

fees go direct to upper managment

Wow, really driving the point home of not to get the stove/microwave combo. You could get a pretty nice microwave for $160!

yep, your right, $160 sure would have bought a new one. To pay somebody to do fix it would have been est $330.

a new microwave would have been clean to, I could have saved 8 hours, the thing weighed 150 pds so pulling it out of the wall cabinet was not fun. buying a new one would have been way better.

lesson learned

Being a cheap pilot myself when my microwave quit I took it apart replaced the fuse for $2.50 and it was as good as the day it was given to me for free.
Keep up the good work you always feel better when you fix it yourself.
