This was a close call. My buddy billy set this off with a small cornice chunk, bout 30 pounds. little dissapointed while it was rolling down, chunck was too small to show anything i thought. rolled down 50 feet and then bam. 150 ft wide 3 feet deep all the way to ground. debris went 1000 ft vert, threw smoke and went thru a 80 year old tree on the way down. glad it was so sensitive because were were considering it. have more respect for "considerable" avalanche danger and am done riding considerable.

Avalanches are serious business! Take those warnings seriously! At least you get them there. In SoCal we got nothing as far as condition forecasts go, and the Eastern Sierra Avy Center may not get up and running at all this year if the fall is any indication.
