Couldn't you have enlisted the missus' help? I'm sure she'd be willing to assist you in being less of an eyesore, seeing as she's the one that has to look at you.

Haircuts are free, quick, and good. when you do it yourself. A broken neck adds a certain downgrade to the latter two.
